Top Questions Asked by Your Peers
What is MAPS Mobile Anesthesia?
MAPS Mobile Anesthesia is practice management software specifically designed for mobile anesthesia. Schedule appointments, access electronic medical records, chart data, manage billing, and safeguard information from the palm of your hand. It’s your unique workflow streamlined into a single platform. Communicating with clinics in real-time and providing care to patients has never been easier or more seamless.
How does MAPS handle scheduling?
MAPS allows mobile anesthesiologists to connect to their referring clinics via our powerful scheduling engine. Clinics simply log in to the MAPS portal to view each anesthesiologist’s schedule and request an appointment. (It’s free for clinics to use FYI.) The anesthesiologist receives an alert, is able to review the patient’s medical history, and then can decide if they’d like to accept the referring clinic’s appointment.
Appointments are sub categorized as either Regular or Hold. Regular appointments are ones where the appointment is attached to a particular patient, whereas Hold appointments are for offices that would like to set aside a block of the anesthesiologist’s time for a future date.
How do mobile anesthesiologists access electronic medical records through MAPS?
MAPS allows mobile anesthesiologists to access a nationwide exchange of electronic health information to review patient medical histories. You gain comprehensive access to your patient’s medical records through our leading-edge QHIN integration, allowing you to provide the highest level of care and tailor the service as closely as possible to patient need.
How do mobile anesthesiologists chart data through MAPS?
How do mobile anesthesiologists manage billing through MAPS?
Mobile anesthesiologists can manage patient payments online or in-person using our secure platform. Once the anesthesiologist accepts an appointment request, the patient receives an email link through which they’re able to make an online deposit. Patients are then able to pay the remainder of the balance by check, cash, or credit or debit card the day of the appointment. And if they’ve already paid a deposit, the system has their payment info saved – making what can be a very sensitive juncture (when the patient has just woken up) all the more seamless.
What measures does MAPS take to safeguard patient data and adhere to HIPAA guidelines?
Confidentiality and security is our top priority. In addition to utilizing industry-standard encryption and two-factor authentication, MAPS follows HIPAA guidelines for data security and privacy, implementing multiple technical precautionary features to safeguard data. Mobile anesthesiologists, clinics, and patients can all enjoy the benefits of MAPS and rest assured that they’re information is secure.
How do clinics and patients access MAPS?
Clinics simply create an account and log in to the MAPS portal to connect with anesthesiologists. It’s completely free for clinics to use! The MAPS platform is designed to be user friendly and intuitive, and there are video tutorials to help in the onboarding process. Clinics can then view mobile anesthesiologists’ schedules and request to book appointments in real-time. If the anesthesiologist decides to accept an appointment, the patient receives an automated email with steps connecting them to the provider.
